Last Year Recap:
Dark Harvest: Chapter 1: 1587
In the year 1587, a colony of hopeful settlers arrived on distant, unfamiliar shores. The land was wild, but the dreams they carried were vivid and full of promise. They built homes, planted crops, and began new lives far from the world they once knew. For a time, all was well.
But the land had secrets.
As the seasons passed, shadows grew longer and darker. Children began to vanish without a trace. Crops withered inexplicably. The air grew heavy with unease. Then came the bodies—small, lifeless forms found deep in the woods, their jaws torn open, teeth ripped from their heads. Whispers spread through the colony, tales of a creature that stole teeth in the night. Thus, the legend of the tooth fairy was born—not as a whimsical sprite, but as a horror born of blood and bone.
Among the missing was Elizabeth, the young daughter of the local butcher. When she disappeared, her father—grief-stricken and furious—took to the woods, determined to find her. Days passed before he stumbled upon her remains, twisted and mutilated like the others. Her mouth hung open in a silent scream, her teeth gone, her soul stolen.
Fueled by vengeance, the butcher pressed deeper into the forest until he found a cabin cloaked in rot and shadow. Inside dwelled the witch. He tried to burn her, to end the evil that had plagued them—but witches do not die easily. As the flames licked the walls, she cast a curse upon the land, summoning creatures with insatiable hunger for flesh. Before the butcher could escape, the curse took hold of him. His bones cracked and twisted; his flesh hardened into something monstrous. He became the Croatoan—a beast of fury and servitude, bound to the witch’s will.
Three years passed.
A rescue party arrived, sent from across the sea to check on the colony. But the settlement was gone. No bodies. No signs of life. Only a single word carved into a tree: Croatoa. A warning perhaps.
Now, they venture into the woods, searching for answers. But the forest remembers. And it does not let go easily.
Who knows what they will find... Or if they will ever make it out.
